The 4th Annual Bash for New York's Bravest
On Monday, November 8, 2004, The Leary Firefighters Foundation held its 4th Annual BASH for New York's Bravest. A capacity crowd gathered at downtown hot-spot Capitale to honor the men and women of the FDNY and to help launch a multi-year campaign to build a new high-rise simulator at the fire department's Randall's Island Training Facility. The event raised a record $600,000. Co-hosts Denis Leary and Carson Daly were joined on-stage by longtime supporter Steve Buscemi to introduce a stirring video tribute to firefighters lost in the line of duty in both New York City and Worcester, Massachusetts.
The stage was then turned over to guest auctioneer Lenny Clarke who kept the audience in hysterics all night long while still managing to take care of the business at hand. Items up for bid included an all-access VIP ticket package to the 2005 ESPY Awards in Hollywood, a speaking role on the hit FX series "Rescue Me"; 4 tickets to Super Bowl XXXIX including transportation on a private Lear jet; and the opportunity to play hockey against Denis Leary, Cam Neely and Pat LaFontaine in DenisŐ backyard, a prize which fetched a whopping $100,000!!! The evening was capped off with a special performance by Blues legend Bo Diddley 0.
The following sponsors lent their generous support to The 4th Annual BASH for New York's Bravest:
Samuel Adams, DunkinŐ Brands, FX Networks, VOOM, Advanced Digital Services, Bausch & Lomb, Sapphire Office Solutions, Sony Pictures Entertainment, BLS Limousine, Curran Affair, Robert DiFazio, The ESPY Awards, Fidelity Investments, Fire Safety Directors Association of Greater New York, HBO, Jeff & Tricia Foose, Lentini Communications, Ross Celebrity PR, Xeno-Lights and zgroupinc.
