The 6th Annual Bash For New York's Bravest
NOVEMBER 17th, 2006--The Leary Firefighters Foundation held it's 6th Annual BASH for New York's Bravest at Cipriani Downtown. This year's BASH was bigger and better than ever, raising $1,000,000 for the construction of the FDNY's first-ever High Rise Simulator, a state-of-the-art facility that will enable firefighters to train in the complex conditions that they face when battling multiple dwelling gires.A portion of the night's proceeds also went to our newest campaign to support the New Orleans Fire Department, in it's critical effort to rebuild firehouses devasted by Hurricane Katrina.
Co-hosted by Donny Deutsch, of CNBC's "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch," and rising Food Network star Rachael Ray, the evening also featured the renowned cuisine of Cipriani's culinary team and that of celebrity Chef David Burke.
The BASH also included extraodinary live and online auction items: a 3-on-3 Skate in Madison Square Garden with Denis Leary, Pat LaFontaine, and Cam Neely; a lunch and exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of "The Sopranos" set with Steve Buscemi; 50 yard-line tickets to the Super Bowl XLI and the Maxim after-party; and a red-carpet meet-and-gree with Morgan Freeman at the premiere of Ben Affleck's directorial debut, "Gone, Baby, Gone."
